If you can't open Outlook, or Outlook disappears or crashes, one of your add-ins may be to blame or you may need to update Outlook. If the troubleshooter can't fix your issue, or if you'd like to fix it yourself, see the next section.

If any of these components are missing or corrupted during installation, Outlook may fail to open or could crash unexpectedly. Maybe you've added a new program to your computer that doesn't get along with Outlook, or your system has a virus. Regardless Fix Outlook Support of the specific cause, there are several key troubleshooting fixes to try that might help. If it starts without any problems, you can check the add-ins. Moreover, it will help you to get the answer to which add-in is causing the issue.

In the Search box, type the name or email address of a person or a keyword you want to search for, and press Enter or select . If you are having issues sending email, this might be due to validation issues with your Microsoft Account. We are aware that some users may not be able to receive email from Gmail accounts. We're aware of an issue where some users see the error message "Your message can't be displayed right now".

Similar to our earlier suggestion of repairing Office (see #3 Repair Your Microsoft Office above), perform the same steps except choose to Uninstall. Be aware that you may need your product key if you received one. Microsoft has its own tool for automatically scanning and correcting Office when things go awry. You can read about it and then run the Microsoft Support and Recovery Assistant to see if that helps. It can automatically diagnose issues, troubleshoot, and fix problems with Outlook. Pressing Alt+Tab will help you switch from window to window and help you see what dialog boxes might be stopping Outlook from Fix Outlook Support responding. These troubleshooting techniques apply to Outlook 2016 and 2011 for Mac. The navigation pane, which typically displays your Inbox, Sent Items, and other folders on the left sidebar, can sometimes become corrupted. A simple reset often resolves this and allows Outlook to open correctly. Sometimes, extra tools, ‘add-ins’ in Outlook, can make things tricky. They’re like helpful accessories, but sometimes they can cause trouble.

If you can't find a dialog box open, move on to the next step. There’s nothing in particular to warn you about, as there are many informational and diagnostic information there, but reading the entries may lead to a clue about what’s going wrong. Note that you can sort by clicking on the Source column. Be sure to look where both Outlook exited and when it was restarted. Do you have another machine you can try to duplicate the problem on, preferably with a configuration that is as close to possible to the machine that has the problem? Identifying patterns helps to diagnose what the problem might be.

Search "PST Repair Tool" and you'll find many reputable programs who know how to fix this Outlook issue. In typical Microsoft fashion, there are also additional rules for certain older platforms that will make you feel very confused about 2FA. We'd be remiss to not tell you there are certain accounts (like Xbox 360) that always require 2FA as well as a special app password. Add-ins are a pretty frequent culprit for Outlook lagging issues because they are meant to provide additional functionality, but they put additional pressure on loading time. Also, '-g' represents the default location of Outlook installation and the address after '-d1' describes your profile folder's default path.

However, if you want to change your password with your email provider, you'll need to visit their website or help desk, or contact your email administrator. For example, if you have a Yahoo! account, you first have to change your password at Yahoo.com. Once you've changed your password with your email provider, you can update the password in Outlook. Get Help has troubleshooters for classic Outlook for Windows you can run for many common scenarios, Fix Outlook Support such as Outlook startup or profile setup problems. I am not quite sure when this started, otherwise I would have rolled back updates and/or removed recently installed apps. I recently uninstalled and reinstalled Office but it only made the issue worse. In System Configuration, if you select a check box, the related service or startup program runs when you restart the computer. If the check box is cleared, the service or startup program doesn't run when you restart the computer.
